Classes This semester I have one sections of 4020. Lab is taken on Tuesday, and the Xday is Friday.

• You will need a text editor for this class. VSCode is the recommended choice. If you don't have it already, a link is supplied here for you to install it. It works on Windoze, Mac, and Linux. VSCode Installer Page

Beginning of Term Appointment

Let's get this done before class starts! You will get an email about this class before class starts telling you that you are enrolled in it, and giving you a ZOOM link for the beginning of term appointment. It will give you a link to this page. You will be able to do some setup on your computer and take care of some business before class starts.

All CS students are required to download the Academic Honesty Document that is linked in navigation area to the left. Print it out. You should read this document and understand its terms, as you are bound by them. You will sign and date your paper copy of it and submit it to me by putting it under my office door, so you know where my office is. Make sure you print your name (legibly) on the first page. When I receive it, I will give you 5 points of credit in the Canvas gradebook.

Zoom In You will schedule an appointment of 10 minutes (on the tens) using Google Calendar. During this appointment, we will do the following.

• Make sure you have your Academic Honesty Agreement in.
• Test installs of software so you can function in this class. Instructions are linked on this page.
• To allow you to ask any questions you might have.

I will post hours for these meetings on this page. There will be hours available before class starts. I encourage you to avail yourselves of them so you can get a hot start to class.

Also, you will need to show me you have configured your lappy for work in this class. Specifics are just ahead; keep reading.

Look on my Google Calendar for a slot. Schedule a 10 minute appointment (on the 10s), and make it a ZOOM meeting. You can opt to do this (smart) before classes begin. The first Monday you are on campus before classes start is a primo choice. Hours will be posted here.

What is specs? This will contain all details for assignments. Quizzes will only be visible in Canvas. You will submit assignments via a Canvas portal. Lab practicals will come with shell files, which you will download on this page.

The roster files are not publicly viewable, as I have turned off permissions for Apache to access them.
