We would greatly appreciate your encouragement of students attending sessions of the virtual Ethics and Leadership Conference being held next Friday, October 29. We worked closely with DEEP and the foundation to get top representatives from industry to present on a variety of topics. Students who register and attend will receive some swag, including a t-shirt. Attendance will be taken, so you are also able to give "extra credit" in your courses if it makes sense to do so. This is a great opportunity for students to learn something relevant to fields in our department while hearing from a diverse panel of speakers. Students are encouraged to attend any sessions that don't require them missing class (though you may give permission for your class, if you so wish, a good way to start the extended weekend?)

Robotics, Rocketry, NSBE, TSA, and others mentors, I would appreciate you messaging your teams (NCSSM students and otherwise) about this event and even reaching out to the parent organization if it makes sense. Again, NCSSM students can't miss class, but we hope many have openings on Friday. Pushing to any other networks serving high schoolers would be appreciated.

This is open to students everywhere in NC, so let students know that siblings and others in their home communities are welcome.
